About CPCM

A Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification demonstrates that you have met NCMA’s highest standards for education, training, and experience, and have demonstrated your knowledge of the contract management competencies in the Contract Management Body of Knowledge.

 A certified professional contracts manager (CPCM) shows that you are knowledgeable about all facets of contracts management, both within the government and the commercial arenas. To earn the CPCM, a candidate must take and pass the Certified Professional Contracts Manager module exam.

 Certification is a mark of distinction. It sets the credentialed individual and his/her workplace apart from others in the same profession. A certified individual communicates that he or she has attained a certain level of expertise and is committed to maintaining the highest level of professionalism.

 NCMA’s certification program, in particular, sharpens candidates’ focus. Certification provides a direct link between the individual in the workplace and the rest of the professional community. This link provides support, guidance, and opportunity.

 Course Learning Outcomes 

Upon successfully completing the CCCM/CPCM course, participants will demonstrate the ability to understand and apply the following: 

  • Apply CMBOK competencies to real-time contracts management and administration
  • Evaluate the integration of other areas of business in the contract management field
  • Understand both pre-award and post-award practices and procedures for contract management
  • Understand the application of specialized knowledge areas in regards to contract administration

 Eligibility Requirement for CPCM®

A candidate is required to have:

  • A degree from a regionally or Distance Education Accreditation Council (DEAC) accredited institution at the bachelor's level.
    • Degrees from outside the U.S. must be evaluated by an independent third party such as World Education Services or Foreign Credits.
  • Five years of work experience in the contract management field.
  • 120 hours of continuing professional education
